Job Descriptions: ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTS ENGINEER

Overall Objectives of the Position

 

Ensure safe operations of Plant and implementation of continual improvements projects through constant review and adherence to inherent design Engineering Principles/Standards. Handle Electrical maintenance and breakdowns. Efficient energy management.

 

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

 

 

  • To Supervise, on priority, maintenance & repair especially machinery installed in production sections, to ensure minimal electrical interruptions.
  • To carry out preventive maintenance, in coordination with Plant Team as per machine maintenance schedule, and to ensure maintenance is managed with in schedule.
  • To ensure smooth supply of electrical power (generated in-house), compressed air & steam, keeping economic factor in mind.
  • To advise / recommend selection and purchase of suitable machinery and materials for operating the plant at optimal level.
  • To support Procurement Department in developing of suppliers of electrical machinery, spares and equipment / materials, instruments of power generation and distribution, air-conditioning and refrigeration, Boiler’s equipment etc. with standard specification.
  • To keep a check on suppliers, fabricating machines + spares for company, to ensure they are made as per specifications and to supervise all civil jobs being executed by contractors and staff on company premises.
  • To analyze, if any production bottle-necks can be eliminated with automation, or in case some machines need replacement, having exhausted their service life with competitive solution.
  • To undertake regular hydraulic tests / safety checks for all equipments particularly for vessels operating with steam, to ensure maintenance of safety standards at all level.
  • Carry out In-house & external calibration of equipment link with any critical process.
  • Deal with Govt. Departments (WAPDA & other agencies of relevance in consultation with FM.

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from reputable university.
  • 07-10year prior supervisory experience in the production environment
  • Able to work on your own and as a team member.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of production machinery and techniques.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

    Overall Objectives of the Position

     

    Responsible for all Manufacturing support functions: Quality, production lines, Engineering, Planning and Maintenance. A production manager ensures that products are produced efficiently. They ensure quality is produced at the right cost and at the right level of quality.

    A production manager is involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage

    • To Ensure planned KPI’s of efficiency and performance related to each manufactured items are met or exceeded.
    • To plan & supervise production operations in Groceries (Pickle process, Vinegar line, Farm Workshop activities, Fruits & Vegetables Process & Canning line sections) to attain optimum output of quality products, on schedule, while continuously reviewing production targets with guiding about planned automation in Production Operations.
    • To collaborate with Engineering section for repair & maintenance of existing equipment, to ensure that the plant runs smoothly, & to raise requirement for new machines when necessary.
    • To be able and demonstrate the best materials handling methods and techniques for use in production operations to minimize waste and rework.
    • To achieve CFT as per standards without compromising on any quality aspect of Products being produced.
    • To ensure effective production floor monitoring while processing and to advise supervisors / Team leaders of any change therein subject to Product safety and consistency.
    • To effectively coach supervisors for being more responsible and demonstrating ownership for employees work safety, work quality, GMP, hygiene of workplace, environmental cleanliness and orderliness.
    • To collaborate and provide input with R&D Team in producing new product samples.
    • To build high morale among production team in achieving sense of ownership and business partnering role in provision / manufacturing of value to our customer being Mitchell’s Product as first choice for everyone, whilst maintaining discipline, as per company rules.
    • To rationalize all processes by conducting regular work studies with the objective to obtain maximum quality output with lowest possible overheads.
    • Reviewing the overall performance and identifying training needs of production personnel to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.

     

    • Critically review and monitor operating results and to specially update and recommend to Management on issues affecting Quality. Productivity (Efficiency and Performance) and Profitability.
    • Meet production plan both Annual and Monthly in line with Rolling Sales Forecast.
    • To Reduce Process Variation to the least possible levels to achieve consistency in Quality.
    • Maximize Operating Performance and Efficiencies – Establish / Achieve OEE Standards
